Aspiring dancer “en pointe” in pursuing her dreamPosted in General School News on Wednesday, 20 September, 2017

Year 12 student, Renae Lowe has been accepted into the Joffrey Ballet School’s Ballet and Jazz Trainee program.

Joffrey Ballet School is a world-renowned dance school in New York. It offers a four-year course but, because of its reputation, most dancers are “discovered” in their first two years.

Renae was accepted into both the ballet and the jazz courses. “Because I like jazz more I will do that but it will still include some ballet classes,” the talented dancer said.

Due to the Joffrey school year starting this month, Renae will defer until September next year as it was not feasible to move overseas at short notice. Meanwhile, Renae will work at meeting the financial commitments of pursuing her dream – it costs a minimum of $36,000 per year to attend Joffrey.

Congratulations Renae!
