Women in Mining WA sponsored three fortunate Year 12 students and a teacher to attend the 2017 WIMWA annual seminar in Perth this week.
A dynamic and engaging panel of industry leaders was chaired by the award-winning author, journalist and current anchor of the ABC TV’s 7.30 Report, Leigh Sales.
The one-day event was full of inspiring industry stories. The highlights of the day were listening to Yvonne Fahey’s talk on challenging stereotypes and unconscious bias and succeeding, and hearing from Michelle Cowan – who was appointed coach of the Fremantle Football Club women’s team last year – and learning how she made her dream a reality through grit and hard work.
Thanks to Mrs Yvonne Fahey, FMS Business and Co-Lead of Alcoa Women’s Network and WIMWA for this wonderful opportunity.
