Contemporary artists inspire with creativityPosted in General School News on Wednesday, 7 June, 2017
Senior art students were inspired by two diverse contemporary artists during a full day incursion at the College.
Year 11 and 12 ATAR and General Art students participated in a creative and colourful workshop conducted by local wax encaustic artist, Helen Coleman and Perth-based urban mural artist, Luke O’Donohoe. Both artists spent hours with the students sharing their art practices and teaching skills and process in their speciality disciplines.
Students gained hands-on experience with wax and spray, and were privileged to share tips and tricks from Helen and Luke to enhance their artwork on the day. The students will take these learnt processes and continue them on into their second major project of the year.
