Canberra Educational Tour 2017Posted in General School News on Monday, 22 May, 2017
The annual Canberra Educational Tour in April was, once again, a highlight on the College’s extra-curricular calendar.
57 students from Year 9 and accompanying staff visited the national capital during the April holidays to learn more about Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The highlight for many was the tour of the War Memorial and the opportunity to pay their respects to those who fought for our country by laying a wreath at the Eternal Flame, and an informative tour of both the new and old Parliament Houses. The Canberra Educational Tour has been organised by Mr Charles Garratt, Humanities and Social Science teacher, for more than 20 years and is a much anticipated adjunct to the classroom learning in Year 9.
