Parents are encouraged to become involved with the P&F Association. It is a wonderful opportunity to form a partnership between home and school. The P&F supports key events that occur throughout the year; the Easter Raffle, Parent Information gatherings, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, the annual Quiz Night, music evenings to name a few. The committee aims to raise funds to support projects that will benefit the students and to keep parents informed and in step with their children’s learning. Various concepts are currently being developed to further enhance parent involvement and support at Mandurah Catholic College.
The College’s P&F Association has always taken great pride in supporting the students’ learning by contributing funds to various learning areas and projects. In the early days, the projects included reticulation of the College oval, the supply and construction of the massive expanse of cover adjacent to Central Park and the College canteen, and the installation of air-conditioning in all existing classrooms. A more recent project involves the College’s commitment to use solar power, which the P&F has pledged to support. The supply and erection of many large shade sails in Junior and Secondary areas has also been funded by the P&F Association more recently.
The contributions from P&F encompass numerous learning materials and campus facilities utilised by students from Kindergarten to Year 12, and include robotics kits (Junior Science and Middle School Science Extension), a pan brake metal bender (Technology and Enterprise), a pottery kiln (Visual Arts), a grand piano and an outdoor chess set.
