Swimmers named in Allstars teamPosted in General School News on Friday, 31 March, 2017
Five members of the College’s Inter-School Swim Squad have been named in the ACC (Associated & Catholic Colleges) All Stars Swimming Team 2017.
Year 8 students, Ben Hollow and Sarah Lea and Year 10 trio, Megan Larmour, Jasmin Allan and Sophie Vergone have been selected for inclusion in the honorary team after their excellent performances in the pool at the recent ACC B Division Championships.
Sophie was selected for five events and Jasmin for three. Together with Megan and fellow Year 10 student, Keeley Hughes they also broke the ACC record for the U/16 4 x 50m freestyle relay, finishing in 01.58.99.
The students were chosen from results compiled in a “virtual carnival”, where results from all carnival divisions have been processed using SportsTrak so that the performances of every swimmer at every school can be compared, regardless of the carnival division. The “virtual carnival” is a great opportunity for students to gauge their individual performances against the best performers from all other ACC schools.
All results are available at: http://www.accsport.asn.au/carnivals/swimming/results/2017
To score points in the virtual carnival, competitors needed to finish in the first 8 places based on their time and the best two performers in each event type per age group are selected in the all-star team.
Congratulations to all five swimmers on their outstanding achievement!
