Materials Design Technology Textiles Produce Beautiful GarmentsPosted in The Arts on Friday, 6 December, 2019

In Term 3, Materials Design Technology Textile students designed their own fabric, with a central theme of nature. The fabric designs were then manufactured by Spoonflower.

During this term, students have investigated traditional Japanese clothing, in particular the Kimono and how western designers have used traditional dress as a form of inspiration for their clothing lines. Students used their personalised fabrics to showcase their technical skills through the production of a lightweight and westernised Kimono, perfect for summer days at the beach and lazy Sunday shopping.

Materials Design Technology is clearly producing the next generation of Australian fashion designers!
