Mini Vinnies 2020 Team FormedPosted in College Community,Ministry,Primary on Monday, 16 March, 2020

The 2020 Mini Vinnies has been formed with 13 Year 5 students wanting to help those in need in our community. We discussed why they wanted to join the group and what they were hoping to achieve.

The group participated in an activity involving surviving on a very low budget of $40. They had themselves and a much loved pet cat to feed for the week. They were very resourceful and made some really good choices. They were made aware that certain foods went further than others and treats were a luxury not a necessity.

Student Comments:

I wanted to help donate things to others in need and I wanted it to help recognise how lucky I am and not to ask for things that I don’t need. Mason Harry

Because I want to help people get things that they can’t afford to have so they can live a better life. Lily Francesconi

I wanted to be a Mini Vinnie because I know how lucky we are having fresh water, food and a roof over our heads. I would like to make a change in other people’s lives. Paris Simmons

I wanted to be a MV to help others in need and I would love to make a change in their lives and make them happy. Sophie Norriss

The reason why I wanted to be a MV is because I wanted to be a part of a community and I wanted to get involved in what is happening to help others. Jayden Campbell

I wanted to be MV because I want to help others in need who don’t have the basic things they need to survive like we do. Phoenix Harry
