Mother’s Day MerrymakingPosted in College Community on Friday, 10 May, 2019
For the unconditional love they shower us with, for all that they do for us, for all the sacrifices they have made – we say thank you to our mothers! Mandurah Catholic College came alive with mums, step mums, grandmothers, nans and other mother figures today, as the children said thank you.
In the Primary School, mothers were treated to a breakfast of French pastries and seasonal fruit platters: and they didn’t have to do the dishes afterwards! The gym was teeming with boys and girls eager to share fun activities with their mother figures, like play-dough, drawing and colouring in and the comfy reading corner where mums were snuggled and little ears savoured every word.
In keeping with tradition, the Year 8 students had a Mother’s Day Liturgy which focused on how much mums mean to them, and students wrote prayer cards for their mother figures. Afterwards all the invited guests and students enjoyed a beautiful morning tea spread.
The P&F Association hosted the Mother’s Day stall, where students could choose a little something for mum, to take home and wrap for her for Sunday. Students eagerly snapped up the treasures to treat mum with. P&F President Mrs Beck Hayes extends her thanks to P&F members Debbie and Lisa, and parent helpers Janine, Sam, Hayley and Jo for the Mother’s Day Stall. “It was a great day, the kids really enjoyed picking out presents for their mums,” said Mrs Hayes.
To all the mother figures in the Mandurah Catholic College community, we thank you for your contribution and wish you a Happy Mother’s Day!
