Throughout this Term, the Primary Years 5 and 6 students competed in the Winter Sports Program (two home games and two away games) which ended on Friday with the Lightning Carnival across the Peel Region in sports of netball, soccer, hockey, AFL and volleyball. All teams played well and represented the College with great sportsmanship and they all deserve a pat on the back for their efforts.
As I am always very proud of the students and the way they played, there is another team that needs mentioning and that is my support team who helped me throughout the term. Coaches Candice Reeves (netball A), Tessa Briggs (netball B), Justine Smith (netball C), Kilian Dawson (AFL), Ela Hope (soccer) Fiona Dell and Amanda Melkert (volleyball), Michelle Cummings, to the student netball, soccer and AFL referees for their great work they have done throughout the term and receiving positive comments coming from other schools in the way they ref the games, and the maintenance staff for their help in making the courts and grounds neat and tidy for when the other schools come and compete here.
The results of the day did not favour MCC very much, but in the end it’s more about the effort and sportsmanship that the students showed.
Well done to all involved.
